DIE GALERIE at KIAF 2010

Following an exciting first half of the 2010 art fair season, which included the successful debut of DIE GALERIE at The Armory Show in New York, we are pleased to announce our upcoming participation at the major art fair in Seoul.

For the 6th time in a row, DIE GALERIE will be present at the most important art fair of Asia: KIAF 2010, the Korea International Art Fair. The fair runs from September 9-13, 2010. We look forward to welcoming the interested art audience at our large, 116 m² booth No. A-21 in Pacific Hall at COEX, right in prime location near the main entrance in Pacific Hall (A) on the main corridor leading to Indian Hall (B). For sure DIE GALERIE’s ambitious presentation of Modern and Contemporary Art will immediately attract the audience's attention:

In the field of Modern Art DIE GALERIE is pleased to show exhibits of highest quality by the 20th century modern masters e.g. André Masson, Marc Chagall and Salvador Dalí including amongst others the museum master piece Têtes d’animaux, created in 1927 by André Masson.

DIE GALERIE will also be dedicating large booth space to the field of Contemporary Art from Europe. Alongside new works by the internationally renowned representatives from Berlin Volker Stelzmann, Johannes Heisig, Klaus Zylla and FD Schlemme we will be highlighting the young German artist Torsten Holtz, a master student of Volker Stelzmann, member of the famous School of Leipzig.

Furthermore DIE GALERIE shows fascinating examples of Heiner Meyer’s new series Flowers, created especially for the joint exhibition Feng Zhengjie & Heiner Meyer. East meets West through Pop Art, which is currently shown at DIE GALERIE in Frankfurt presenting his oeuvre in juxtaposition with works by the Chinese star artist Feng Zhengjie.

Last not least DIE GALERIE is pleased to introduce the outstanding contemporary landscape painter José Enguídanos from Spain for the very first time to the Korean art world. The presentation at KIAF reveals Enguídanos’ individual and poetic pictorial language, which has been developed from exploring various traditions in art history. His magically attractive landscapes are reminiscent of both metaphysical and impressionistic painting. Owing to their particular light compositions, silent landscapes, empty buildings and mysterious figures, José Enguídanos’ works come across as peculiarly dreamlike, yet realistic at the same time. Surrealistic visions merge with images of reality and subtle irony with an individual imagery far removed from eclecticism or programmatic avantgardism. Enguídanos’ work features in numerous private and public collections, including the famous Fundación La Caíxa in Barcelona, Spain.

The official opening of KIAF 2010 is taking place on September 8, 2010, 5 – 9 pm KST. Press Preview 3 – 5 pm KST.

We are very much looking forward to your visit at:
